When You Should Call Doctor
Call doctor when you have following symptoms, which may indicate infection and/or other serious conditions:
- High fever (over 101 degrees)
- Persistent severe headache that disrupts your life
- Blurred or double vision
- Frequent memory loss or dizziness
- Green-yellow mucus discharge from the nose
- Postnasal drip is thick, colored and lasts more than a week
- Facial swelling and pain
- Sore throat that lasts more than few days
- Hard to swallow food and/or swollen neck glands
- Wheezing and/or difficulty breathing due to severe chest congestion
- Skin irritation like hives and inflammation
- Chronic fatigue accompanied by muscle pain, fever, or nausea
- Common symptoms of colds or flu do not improve or get worse after taking over-the-counter medication for a reasonable time (3-5 days
- Thoughts of death or suicide
- Prolonged sleep disturbances such as insomnia, excessive sleeping, etc.
- So tired that you can’t function or concentrate normally during the day
- Ongoing feelings of intense sadness, pessimism, or anxiety
