When You Should Call Doctor

Call doctor when you have following symptoms, which may indicate infection and/or other serious conditions:

  • High fever (over 101 degrees)

  • Persistent severe headache that disrupts your life

  • Blurred or double vision

  • Frequent memory loss or dizziness

  • Green-yellow mucus discharge from the nose

  • Postnasal drip is thick, colored and lasts more than a week

  • Facial swelling and pain

  • Sore throat that lasts more than few days

  • Hard to swallow food and/or swollen neck glands

  • Wheezing and/or difficulty breathing due to severe chest congestion

  • Skin irritation like hives and inflammation

  • Chronic fatigue accompanied by muscle pain, fever, or nausea

  • Common symptoms of colds or flu do not improve or get worse after taking over-the-counter medication for a reasonable time (3-5 days

  • Thoughts of death or suicide

  • Prolonged sleep disturbances such as insomnia, excessive sleeping, etc.

  • So tired that you can’t function or concentrate normally during the day

  • Ongoing feelings of intense sadness, pessimism, or anxiety
