Here is another useful information from world-renowned Dr. Andrew Weil regarding folic acid and its effective role in reducing allergy and asthma symptoms:
The higher your blood levels of folic acid, the less chance you may have of developing allergies or asthma. While that conclusion needs to be confirmed by further studies, researchers from Johns Hopkins have reported that folic acid may help regulate immune system responses to allergens (ragweed pollen, dust and other substances that set off sneezing, wheezing) and also reduce the symptoms of allergy and asthma. The Hopkins team reviewed the medical records of more than 8,000 people ages two to 85, tracking the effect of levels of folate (the naturally occurring form of folic acid) on respiratory and allergy symptoms and on levels of IgE antibodies, the immune system proteins that rise in response to allergens. They found that individuals with higher blood levels of folate had fewer IgE antibodies, fewer reported allergies, less wheezing and a lower likelihood of asthma. The findings were published online ahead of print in the Journal of Allergy & Clinical Immunology. The investigators are planning a study comparing the effects of supplemental folic acid and placebo in people with allergies and asthma.

In January this year, I joined Gaia Community. I highly recommend this nurturing, enlightening group to anyone.
In response to the site's daily "Questions and Reflections" asking about the last risk I took, I answered this way:
Starting my website. I am technologically challenged so the idea of being on online constantly was extremely intimidating. Honestly, I learned to use the internet about three years ago! In any case, I am pleased to have overcome my fears and created a site that shares helpful info for those of us who suffer from sinus and allergy problems.
These are few responses I received from other members:
I think it's wonderful you started your website. It really is intimidating to start a new project like that, isn't it? And so helpful for other folks who suffer from sinus and allergy problems to be able to get good information on your site. Good job!
What a LOVELY website! I'll send the link to some sufferers-soon-to-be-betters!
I've been to your site and must say it's very helpful. Many years ago I had this awful sinus infection and it kicked my butt for months. Back then I took antibiotics…but also started using the neti bowl. Now I just use plain old saline solution almost daily…and I no longer need to use flonaise during allergy seasons. I'm sure your site will help a lot of folks out…and make their lives more enjoyable.
I am thankful to these supportive people and I deeply appreciate you, readers of my site, for visiting and revisiting me. It is encouraging me to continue sharing my knowledge and experiences to help others to heal. We are in this together to learn from each other and to be comforting and supportive.

And here is another word and image I created. Simply SHOUT. I am kinda fond of shouting and screaming. That is, when I am alone and be in safe environment lest people perceive me to be crazy.
While growing up I rarely did either one. In fact, I didn't have much of a voice to let others know I existed and mattered. Why that was the case is a long and complicated story.
In any case, my shouting, literally and metaphorically, releases a lot of stuff I shoved and kept inside me so that I got along, was well-liked, and just coped with life in general.
Now that I am learning to shout and speak up, I must say it's empowering and feels good. I have no doubt in my mind that this act of releasing played a vital role in healing my body as well as my mind. So who wants to join me?

Feeling exhausted, stiff, tense, anxious...overwhelmed in general? May I suggest a professional massage? It did wonders for me. I felt like jello afterward. You may ask, hmmm...sounds good but can I afford such a luxury during this awful recession? Well, it may not be quite costly as you think.
Due to expansion in mind/body health and well-being related business, there are many places with good services at affordable price for you to choose from. I often get coupons in the mail. You can try out student massages at local massage schools or go with discounted packages.
So, here are some benefits you gain from massage: Reduces blood pressure and heart rate, eases stiff joints, alleviates sore muscles, boosts immune system, decreases stress hormone levels, and of course, you feel relaxed. You feel good from having done something for yourself and nothing can beat that!
