Inspiration - February 2009

Thought for the week of 02/22-02/28, 2009

Trying times bring out really good stuff in me. Sure, I don't enjoy the unpleasant side of them. I gave up the martyr complex a while ago. Anyway, difficult, challenging periods in my life force me to slow down and reflect on what is going on in my inner and outer world...there is a strong impetus to make changes. I have feeling that this is a common phenomenon for a lot of people. We ponder about what is the meaning of current happenings and question if we are doing the right things and going in the right direction. So in that vein, I have looked to some wise, influential thinkers to gain insight and guidance. I believe they are timely and relevant. For this week, I turned to Thomas Moore to shed some light on the topic of "Being on the Right Track":

You know you are on the right track when you don't have a kind of pressing desire to go somewhere else. I think desire is really the key to know where you are. If your desires are throwing you off and making you dissatisfied with where you are, and you're daydreaming about being somewhere else, not present to what your are doing, that would be a good sign [you are not on the right path].
--Thomas Moore, PhD, author of Care of the Souls and Soul Mates

Thought for the week of 02/15-02/21, 2009

All things respond to self-recognition, including your health
--Raymond Charles Barker

Repeat this affirmation of healing:
"I understand that my thoughts and energy have a direct correlation to my wellbeing; therefore, I keep my energy upbeat and positive. I find strength in my faith and keep my thoughts focused on perfect health. My mind and body are in harmony."

Thought for the week of 02/08-02/14, 2009

Love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done.--Vincent Van Gogh

Beautiful, profound words from a man and artist who seemed to have poured his greatest love into his paintings-a legacy that has moved and influenced so many people throughout the world. Here is a montage of his artwork...expressing his passion, his love...well done, indeed!

Thought for the week of 02/01-02/07, 2009

Change is the essence of life. Be willing to surrender what you are for what you could become.--Unknown

This quote is a good reminder that life has cycles: ups and downs, peaks and valleys. Accepting what is and at the same time envisoning the better times to come and taking actions is the key to thriving in hard times.
May this week's prayer/meditation remind us to be strong and hopeful no matter what we are going through:
"I surrender to the Power and Presence of God within which is Life Itself expressing through me. I trust the ever unfolding action of God to reveal greater good throughout every area of my life. I experience Peace, Abundance, Joy, Wisdom and Wholeness because I know who I Am and I share who I Am with my world. I give thanks for the opportunity to model the truth that God is, I Am, all are One in Spirit and in Truth and that's the way it really is!"
