Photography was a passion of mine at one point in my life. Just wandering around different places with my camera, capturing whatever piqued my interest, and seeing that image emerge in the darkroom was one of the most exciting and fulfilling experiences. Then my first beloved camera got stolen and busy with other design projects, I gradually stopped photographic work altogether. But fortunately, some of my friends are gifted photographers and I get to experience some of the same thrill of seeing beautiful, provocative images through their eyes. Here I share with you one such friend, Stephen Austin. I'll let his work speak for itself.

The recent devastating earthquake in Haiti and the subsequent outpouring of assistance worldwide reminds us of love and compassion that binds us all. Such was the case with this "Love Project" which had musicians from all over the world sing together at the same time to raise awareness for AIDS in Africa.

Faces Pictures, Images and Photos

Do you know this face? You must... it's Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes! You know, the awesome comic strip character created by Bill Watterson. Well, someone was inspired by Calvin's expressive face and asked regular people to imitate a particular facial expression of him, photograph it, and send it in. And, ta-da, here is the hilarious result. Enjoy!

Celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day with his profound, inspiring words:

Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it.

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.

Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase.

Ten thousand fools proclaim themselves into obscurity, while one wise man forgets himself into immortality.

The good neighbor looks beyond the external accidents and discerns those inner qualities that make all men human and, therefore, brothers.

The hope of a secure and livable world lies with disciplined nonconformists who are dedicated to justice, peace and brotherhood.

Why do I run? I run because physical fitness is one of my new year's resolutions and my son, a runner, inspired me. Oh, and...umm...yeah, I am going for that gold medal...that's the ticket!

I have a wonderful friend, Kyle, whom I got to know from Intent.com and Facebook. His warm smile on the profile photo draws everyone in. I've often found his thoughts and comments to be positive, caring and supportive. Kyle seems to have this uncanny ability to know when to send just right words of encouragement to me. Hence, I wasn't surprised to learn that he has started an organization which helps the street children in the Philippines. To me, his work simply manifests his big heart overflowing with love and compassion. So I invite you to visit and find out more about Kyle and his inspiring work at the links below. His friendship is valued much.

New Year's Resolutions! I am sure you are bombarded with well-meaning talks, advice, suggestions, "do and don't" lists for a new year's resolutions coming from the media and people you know. Well, can you handle another one with a twist? Of course, I am not trying to be flippant here. But as years pass, I realize the importance of not taking ourselves too seriously and laugh more. In fact, one of my new year's resolutions is to smile and laugh as often as possible. So here is the list that made me do just that:)

-Just for today, I will not sit in my living room all day in my nightdress. Instead, I will move my computer into the bedroom.
-I will no longer waste my time relieving the past, instead I will spend it worrying about the future.
-I will not bore my boss by with the same excuse for taking leaves. I will think of some more excuses.
-I will do less laundry and use more deodorant.
-I will avoid taking a bath whenever possible and conserve more water.
-Assure my lawyer that I will never again show up drunk at a custody hearing.
-I will give up chocolates totally. 100%. Completely. Honestly....
-I will try to figure out why I "really" need nine e-mail addresses.
-I resolve to work with neglected children -- my own.
-I will spend less than one hour a day on the Internet. This, of course, will be hard to estimate since I'm not a clock watcher.
-I will try to drive closer to the speed limit.
-I will read the manual... just as soon as I can find it.
-I will not tell the same story at every get together.

Sounds True, Inc.
