Feeling miserable during this fall allergy season? I am. So here is something to bring a bit of laughter to make us feel better...maybe?

One can have mixed feelings about reality shows on television but it's true that sometimes we discover people's exceptional talents through them. Such is the exquisite artistic expression by Kseniya Simonova using simply sand and her gifted hands. Her work is emotionally stirring as she visually tells poignant stories that transcend language.

"The Path"

If anybody asks you what the Path is about,
It's about generosity.
It's about morality.
It's about concentration.
It's about gaining insight through focused self-observation.
It's about the cultivation of subjective states of compassion and love based on insight.
And it's about translating that compassion and love into actions in the real world.

-Shinzen Young (Buddhist meditation teacher and author)

Alanis Morissette is one of my favorite singer/songwriters. I appreciate the raw honesty and vulnerability in her music. Many of her songs convey to me her quest for authentic self and personal growth. Here I share with you a song I find that expresses her approach well. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

"Incomplete"

One day, I'll find relief
I'll be arrived and I'll be a friend to my friends
Who know how to be friends
One day, I'll be at peace
I'll be enlightened and I'll be married
With children and maybe adopt
One day, I will be healed
I will gather my wounds
Forge the end of tragic comedy
I have been running so sweaty my whole life
Urgent for a finish line
And I have been missing the rapture this whole time
Of being forever incomplete
One day, my mind will retreat
And I'll know God
And I'll be constantly one with her
Night, dusk and day
One day, I'll be secure
Like the women I see
On their thirtieth anniversaries
I have been running so sweaty my whole life
Urgent for a finish line
And I have been missing the rapture this whole time
Of being forever incomplete
Ever unfolding, ever expanding
Ever adventurous and torturous
But never done
One day, I will speak freely
I'll be less afraid
And measured outside of my poems and lyrics and art
One day, I will be faith filled
I'll be trusting and spacious
Authentic and grounded and whole
I have been running so sweaty my whole life
Urgent for a finish line
And I have been missing the rapture this whole time
Of being forever incomplete

Wise words to reflect on as each day we make decisions based on how we think and what we believe....

Nothing is easier than self-deceit. For what each man wishes, that he also believes to be true. - Demosthenes

A person will worship something, have no doubt about that. We may think our tribute is paid in secret in the dark recesses of our hearts, but it will out. That which dominates our imaginations and our thoughts will determine our lives, and our character. Therefore, it behooves us to be careful what we worship, for what we are worshipping we are becoming. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

A fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the subject. - Winston Churchill

The belief that there is only one truth, and that oneself is in possession of it, is the root of all evil in the world. - Max Born

The outer conditions of a person's life will always be found to reflect their inner beliefs. - James Allen

I would never die for my beliefs because I might be wrong. - Bertrand Russell
